nice taking the dogs with you
Hope you find what you need, pleasant holidays.
It is difficult for me because I don't know Dutch. But I type "huren hondenkennel" is that correct ? One website comes up : http://www.vliegtuigkennel.nl/ But I am not sure they are still in business as I called and emailed them but no response !
Perhaps you've already tried the following but maybe you could contact your flight company to inform if they have any kennels for rent?
I think your best bet would be to call them between 9.00-21.00 and ask. I'm sure they have at least a few people on staff that speak English, and you can get all your answers in one go.
Question though; are your dogs used to staying in a kennel? If not, you might want to consider getting two kennels secondhand. It might cost you a little more than renting (although renting two kennels will cost you at least 80 euros as well), but that way you can spend some time adjusting your dog to being confined in a small space. Flying alone can be stressful enough for a dog, you don't want to add on extra anxiety by stuffing them in a box they're not used to . Just make sure the kennels you end up with are IATA approved!
Good luck
Whoops, sorry, I read over the part that you tried to call them already!
Could anyone give me names /website of dog transport companies in Netherlands for me to ask about renting dog kennels ?
My dogs were ok when they came from Australia to UK. I am 99% sure they would be ok for a short flight to Finland. I don't really have any option other than renting one because I will be coming from UK by ferry and train and just transiting through Amsterdam ! I can't fly directly from UK to Finland with dogs because to do that I am required to use an pet travel agent which would cost me at least 500 pound for one dog one day !!

Perhaps try this site. For renting also.
I don't know anything about Dutch dog transport companies, but for me I would probably consider just not taking them with me for two weeks. But that's of course personal; for our dog the stress of the trip would be worse than being left in the care of family.
when you cal schiphol about dogs, they can help you.
I think it's cheaper and easier to just buy two kennels.
And sell them afterwards on second hand sites....who knows for a better price
I can't help you with that unfortunately, but are you sure you can get those kennels with you on the plane (size wise)?
I've been flying a couple of times with dogs (even 3 days ago), and the biggest kennel I could take with me was a Vari-kennel XL with the measurements of 101×68×76cm.
It depends on what type of airplane you're flying with ofc, but I doubt it will be bigger than a boeing 737, and then the 101cm one is the biggest you can take with you. (When you fly with KLM for example, the kennel can't be bigger than 247 cm: length + width + heigth)
I'd recommend to call the operator and ask what the maximum size of the kennels can be, just to make sure you're not ending up at the airport with 2 dogs that you can't take with you!
I hope things work out and I wish you a nice holiday
Hi all ! Thanks so much for everyone's response. After lots of calling, I find out that Finnair can take max size 122cm x 81 x 89, and the owner of that kennel rental business was on holiday Canada, but he is still in the business !
Unfortunately I don't live in in Amsterdam, so I can't really sell it afterward as I will be here just for a day !
Schiopol sells kennels, but for something that big they want around 200 euro for one. It is too much money to buy it there and then throw it away at the airport on the way back. But thanks for the suggestion !
So much to organise for a trip with dog !! Every minor logistical details have to be sorted out to prevent getting stranded in the middle of the journey !
Maybe this person has something for you? It says they have birth boxes and puppy kennels for rent. I don't know if they have something in the size you need but you can ask..
Does anyone have any idea how does it take for the dogs to clear Holland custom assuming all documentations are fine ?
In or out? Checking a dog in takes some time; they go over all the paperwork and have to check the kennel, put stickers on it, prepare tags, etc. The guideline is to add an extra thirty minutes to your check in when traveling with a pet.
When I brought back my dog from the US I cleared customs itself in 5 minutes, tops, but that was after waiting 20 minutes in special baggage claim for them to hand her to me, and another 15 minutes of standing in line at the customs desk.
ACE charity uses frequently that kind of sky crates to ship the dogs coming over from Spain. They may be interested to buy afterwards.....for a reasonable price ?.....you never know.
contact their webside ACE Charity and I wil pb you cor the person to contact who arranges the flights.
